About the Book
Classic Stories for Today's Students contains eleven classic stories re-told for middle school students by Jennifer Turay, a language arts teacher in an Ohio public school system. Ms. Turay has reduced the length of each story without altering its theme, its flow, and its major messages; and she has re-written the stories in today’s standard English. As a result, Classic Stories for Today's Students is a treasure chest of beautiful novels that are engaging, interesting, adventurous, and heart-warming. They are stories students like to read.
Classic Stories... and Standardized Testing
The teacher's edition of Classic Stories for Today's Students is full of reading skills and strategies, literary analysis skills, vocabulary-building skills, and writing applications that reinforce standardized test objectives found on state examinations. Classic Stories for Today's Students is an ideal supplementary text that complements the primary literature textbooks used in school systems throughout the country.
